I'm not sure what triggered it but over the past week I rediscovered that I like creating things. I'm into sewing again. The process of deciding what to sew and choosing the fabrics is always the best part for me. Follow through...not so much. I've started two market skirts for Molly, one in green and one in purple. Last night we went to the fabric store together and picked out buttons for the pockets. I've never done pockets before but these are so cute I've got to try!

I've also decided to make both of the kids quilts for Christmas. I've planning to modify Amy Karol's lap quilt from bend-the-rules sewing. You should check out the flicker group for pictures of completed projects. I've found a few quilts there that I'm going to use for inspiration when I get to the layout of the quilt.

I've chosen a palate of pink, orange, purple and green for Molly and I think I'm going to do blue, black and white for Patrick. I can't seem to find fabric that I like for Patrick in the local stores so I'm thinking of taking the leap and ordering fabric online. I really like to touch my fabric and compare side by side before making decisions so this will be a big step for me. In pre-shopping I have found I can get great deals online so I'm hoping it will be a good experience. I would love some tips from those of you who have ordered fabric before, what sites do you use?
